More Interior updates......

Now that we're working on the interior, progress does not appear as noticeable as when walls were going up, roofs completed, or decks finished. That does NOT mean no progress! :)

The plumbing, heat and air, and electrical rough-ins are complete and will be inspected today. YAY!  Assuming inspections go as planned, insulation work will start tomorrow; then on to drywall!

Here are some additional pics from the ongoing interior work. Enjoy!

Here's the soaking tub in the master bath.
And the slider in the master bedroom that leads to the screen porch.

And lets not forget a before / after shot of the fireplace!

A little interior update......

The snow seems to be a thing of the past (please Lord)
and things are hummin' at the house!

The vaulted ceiling in the living room is taking shape and the windows are in.

The framing is in for the barreled foyer ceiling.

Oh No! Snow! Go snow, Go!

Two snowstorms passed through in a week and left a combined total of 20" of snow. Pretty stuff, but it shut down work for 8 days. We just got the road plowed today.

After getting a bulldozer up the hill we're all clear. The boys can start work again tomorrow!

Phase 2 Complete!

Framing is complete!
Finally! After some cold, windy weather and a few SNAFU's on the lower section of the roof, our framing crew completed the exterior framing. Now we can move to the inside!

The curves at the roof bottom gave the framers fits!
These good ol' southern boys called them "hoop-dee-do's". :)

Before the roof decking (above); after the decking (below)

Even from the back it's starting to look like a house!

Next Step: Rough-in for plumbing, heat & air, and electrical. YAY!!

Springtime in January!

It was a beautiful day today - mid 50's in January.  So we got some exercise walking the hills this evening.  And it was a good excuse to see the framers' most recent work....

They began the deck in order to frame the roof above the screened porch - the right hand side as you are looking at the back of the house.

On the deck looking toward the screened porch.

Oh, and let's not forget..... We have a staircase now.....woohoo!

Holiday Progress

Been a few weeks since our last posting and the framers have been working on the roof framing, amidst the holiday schedule and cold weather.

First step:  The main beam across the front of the house.

Followed by the front porch gable.

Then on to the garage.

Next they'll tackle the gable roof over the great room and screen porch. Then on to roof decking, waterproofing and dry-in! Once that happens......interior here we come!

What a beautiful December Sunday afternoon!  We decided to take a stroll on the property and snapped these photos. Hopefully roof trusses will go in this week.

Can't wait to see a deck back here

Jake is always somewhere keeping watch!

Framing continues.......

The framers continue to make progress and are tackling the main floor.

Here's the first wall upstairs to go up:  The Front of the house!

All exterior walls are up except the garage.

The boys are framing the garage and are now moving on to the rafters.

This week they finish the rafters and start the roof trusses.......starting to look like a house!

The place is really taking shape

The framing has continued over the last couple weeks.
Finishing the basement

And on to the main level

There's that view again!

And look at the view from the kitchen window! Awesome!

Guess where Mike and Sean will be sitting early Thanksgiving day?  Overlooking the deer food plot!  Jake approves. :)

Framing Begins

I came home from a business trip, picked up Jake from the kennel, and headed up to the hill.  It was so cool to see the basement framed and looking like a real house......and yes, I walked through all the rooms. Can't wait for Mike to get home from a hunting trip so I can show him the progress!

Oh, look who's out my window....

Phase 1 Complete!

There's been a lot of concrete poured over the last couple weeks. And this week they laid the plumbing in the basement floor and poured the basement slab.
 Progress, Progress, Progress!

First they set the basement plumbing.

Followed by gravel, rebar, and wire mesh.

Then, voila........basement floors!

So what does this all mean?  Phase 1 (the foundation) is complete!!
Next week we start FRAMING!!  YES!!

And this lady is GORGEOUS! It's fun to see how excited she's getting about her new home!

Forms, Fall, and Flocks......oh my!

We took an evening drive to the ridge and
were so pleased to see that the forms are going in!

The fall color really changes the feel of the ridge

And a flock of passersby approve of ALL the changes!
